Step Forward into Life!
As Spring approaches, so does the time to "Spring Forward" with our clocks! On March 14, 2010, Daylight Savings Time begins and we are faced with losing an hour of daylight (and sleep) in the morning. Unless we petition the time-keeper-decision-makers to change what I feel to be more of a nuisance than a benefit, we are stuck with adjusting our body clocks to the time change. Look at it this way, in the Fall you will gain that precious hour back, yipee!

As an eternal optimist, I've chosen to embrace the time change as an opportunity for personal growth. This year, I'm setting the intention to be happy when March 13th comes around and go to bed earlier so the time change won't affect me too much. The fact of the matter is that the days are getting longer, the snow is melting, the birds are chirping and the crocuses, daffodils and tulips are bursting through the ground to reach the warm sun. Spring is an amazing time of year.

Since I moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2008, my life has taken many turns, and I took a break from my coaching business and writing my newsletter. I now work as a personal trainer for the City of Boulder recreation centers and teach the Biggest Winner class. I enjoy teaching and helping people walk their path to wellness. Each person's journey is unique and know that you are able to choose your life and the way you live it.

And so it is, I'm energized by the arrival of Spring – a perfect time for me to "Step Forward into Life", and into coaching again and into this month's newsletter topic.
  • What will it take for YOU to welcome Spring as a time to step forward in new and different ways?
  • What will it take for YOU to clear your busy schedule to make time for yourself?
  • What will it take for YOU to embrace more physical activity with open arms?
  • What will it take for YOU to think of food as fuel and eat more healthfully?
  • What will it take for YOU to stop making excuses and start making better choices?
  • What will it take for YOU to treat your health as an investment?
This Spring, welcome the time change and consider the practice of "making the best possible choices everyday". Meditate, journal and reflect on where you are right now. Have a heart-to-heart talk with yourself or a life coach as to what you want your life to look like, and begin taking the necessary steps to move forward with a new outlook to life.

Go ahead, take a step, a small one, or even a bigger one – just Step Forward into Life!
